After some good 9 on 9 games most of the crowd left claiming exhaustion and/or other obligations. The remaining 8 players decided to play one last game of 4 on 4. I, having had a bout with heat exhaustion earlier in the day, was not up to playing but I decided that I could probably walk around the field and play combat photographer. So, I put on my orange vest, grabbed the camera, and off we went!
The field consisted of
two hills (North and South) and a rock pile in
the middle. A flag station was situated at the top of each hill. The rock
pile provided a strategic neutral location that (if held) would allow one
side or the other to dominate the field (neglecting the flag stations, of
course). The picture below is the view from the North flag station looking
towards the South flag station. To the left is the middle rock pile. Much
of the field is left out of this view, but still, this picture should give
you a general idea of the type and layout of the terrain.

Citing fatigue, the Northern team decided to play it pretty conservative. That is to say that the decided to play a defensive battle and let the enemy come to them. Alas, I missed some of the opening volleys, but suffice to say that the game quickly evolved into Tony and Dan defending the Northern flag station from Eric, Greg, and Richard.
