Dave's Rocketry Stuff
Dave aboard a gen-u-ine SA-2 made in the USSR
My latest project(s)...
- Splash: A sounding rocket splash
pattern (safety analysis) tool that I've basically dedicated the last year
of my life to.
- WaterRock.xls: An Excel spreadsheet to
estimate water rocket performance that includes air cooling (on
expansion) and chamber decompression (air blowdown).
- Gun Launched Rocket: Or, how to get
that Estes 'D' engine rocket to trans-sonic velocities.
- atmos.c: Source code to a simple ANSI C based
program to calculate standard atmosphere values.
- Arocket FAQ Topic 24: I volunteered
to help write a FAQ that never really happened. Still, some folks
liked the page so I keep it around.
Some pretty pictures...
(Yes, I am quite aware I'm a bad photographer.)
- sorac1.jpg: Bill Colburn's SORAC (10/10/99).
- sorac2.jpg: SORAC lifts off (10/10/99).
- sorac3.jpg: SORAC continues it's long and
beautiful burn (10/10/99).
- sorac4.jpg: OK, so Bill has a thing or two to
learn about recovery (10/10/99).
- TMboom01.jpg: Tom Mueller's NOX/Propane
rocket sitting on the pad (6/19/99).
- TMboom02.jpg: The same rocket an instant
after ignition (6/19/99).
- TMboom03.jpg: The same rocket at about
T = +3 seconds (Sorry, Tom, but the pictures were spectacular.).
- DG001.jpg: Dave Griffith's failed (believe it
or not!) bi-propllant (6/19/99).
- DG002.jpg: Dave Griffith's hybrid (6/19/99).
- stu1.jpg: A LOX/alcohol rocket build by some
University of Kansas students is prepped for launch (5/2/98)
- stu2.jpg: The same LOX/alcohol rocket lifts
off the ground (5/2/98)
- stu3.jpg: The same LOX/alcohol rocket clears
the launch rail (5/2/98)
And maybe a link or three...
- Reaction Research Society: A SoCal
based experimental rocketry club. Not too much information here, but a
good group to join if you're interested in the hobby.
- Rocketry Online: The
source for links to rocketry related clubs, vendors, tech pages, etc.
- Rich Nakka: Master of
sugar/KNO3. Need I say more?
